Hi,
need some advice in removing front wheel bearings on the E-TRA hub. With this style of hub, do you need a special tool to remove metal tube that protrudes either side of each bearing ? Or do you simply use a rubber mallet to knock it through ?
Thanks in advance, Brett.

Tap/press out the inner axle sleeve, then use a punch/press to remove the bearings.
to refit, do in reverse. takes less than 5 minutes.

They feel good with no play
If it ain't bust, don't fix it. Bearings are highly unlikely to fail catastrophically, stranding you miles from anywhere. Instead, they go in stages, become rumbly, notchy as they wear out. But they're also pennies in the scheme of things so, change them if you feel you want to, no harm in it other than to waste a few shekels.
