Replacement Stem

I have a 2018 FS9 looking to fit a shorter stem, presently fitted as original is a - Bontrager Line 60mm Knock Block, 35 mm. Does anybody know if the knock block will affect my choice ? Thanks for your help !!

I remember talking to my local Trek shop about it. I could get any stem and they would cut out the fitting for the knock block. In the end I just got another shorter Bontrager stem.
