Has anyone out there pulled the battery out of your Santa Cruz Vala? I have a 2026 model. Seems like you need to pull the motor, unplug some things, and then slide the battery out. But I would like to learn from someone who has already gone down this road. Thx.

Yes, you need to remove the motor. 2 bolts and 2 wires and chain and rear wheel if I remember correctly. I would also get the new style motor mounting bolts for the reinstall. I needed to remove the charging port from the frame and I also removed the controller from the top tube to disconnect those wires and then the 2 bolts that hold the battery in place and slide it downward. Make sure you have enough room for the battery to clear the ground.

I've got a brand new 600W Bosch battery that I'm not going to need after all and am going to be selling, if you by chance need a battery.
