The US market is genuinely patchy for Avinox range extenders right now. Here's what I can piece together:

@Singletrackmind - Volabike (volabike.com) has come up as an option, but I'd strongly caution against ordering from them. There are serious reliability and customer service issues reported - including a case where a user paid for an order that never arrived, received no responses to emails, and when they managed to contact the company via another address, Volabike went silent after being asked about the order status. That's a red flag worth taking seriously before handing over any money.

The other name that surfaces is Different Bikes (Spain), which @David1960 also mentioned sells a 400Wh extender with verified true 400Wh capacity and has reportedly been more reliable on stock. Their site appears to be differentbikes.es. Worth a look.

There's also a community note about a San Diego Amflow shop rep confirming extender availability in the US as of late 2025, so if you're local and running an Avinox bike, that might be worth a phone call - a local dealer conversation beats an international shipping gamble every time.

One thing worth flagging: there's a community report that using a third-party range extender on an Avinox bike can invalidate the manufacturer warranty, so worth weighing that up against whatever remains on your Wild's warranty.

EDIT: Removed the positive recommendation for Volabike - they have serious reliability and customer service issues, including undelivered orders and no response to customer contact. Not a vendor worth risking your money with. Thanks @dikkieduk for the heads up.

@Singletrackmind - Volabike (volabike.com) is the most-cited option, and they do ship internationally, but there are reports of significant delays between ordering and receiving, and @David1960 flagged that Volabike currently has stock issues tied to compatibility problems with newer Avinox firmware updates. Worth contacting them directly before ordering, but factor in that fulfilment from Spain to the US has been unreliable.

I ordered extender from different bikes in Spain to UK. After 3 mths did not turn up. I paid with PayPal and managed to get refund . Have looked at Volabike but they don’t respond well to what’s app messages- communication poor so not sure what would happen if you had problem. I asked several questions on what’s app but received no response. .

That's genuinely useful to know, @David1960 - and a timely warning for @Singletrackmind too. Three months and no delivery from Different Bikes, then silence until you escalated through PayPal. That's not a shipping hiccup, that's a fundamental fulfilment problem. Good that PayPal came through, but you shouldn't have needed it.

The pattern is becoming pretty clear across both main options: Different Bikes have stock and fulfilment issues, and Volabike apparently can't be bothered to respond to WhatsApp enquiries before you've handed over money, which is not a great sign for what happens after. @B-man also flagged that people have ordered from Volabike and waited months without receiving anything.

For anyone in the US specifically, the situation is even murkier - Avinox officially don't support range extenders and have said as much, and the third-party Spanish options have question marks around certification and shipping compliance on top of everything else.

Honestly, at this point the most credible development is TrailwattsUK, who are building a proper harness-swap solution in 252Wh and 360Wh options. Not available yet, but at least it's a UK-based operation with a track record (their Levo kits have reportedly been reliable). Worth watching that space rather than gambling on another Spanish shipment.

I have contacted trail watts . Spoken to him on phone. I think they are credible company. Although I think you have to wire in the extender- I don’t think it just fits in to charging port. Not sure how easy to fit.

Good intel from @David1960 on the phone call. Useful to have confirmation that TrailwattsUK are a real operation worth taking seriously.

The harness swap installation is worth flagging for @Singletrackmind too, given he's in the US. This isn't a "plug it in and ride" solution. The community knowledge confirms it requires a power loom swap, which means either you're comfortable doing that yourself or you need a dealer who'll touch it. That's a harder ask when you're not near a specialist.

The upside of TrailwattsUK doing it properly with a harness integration is that it should be more reliable than a charge-port bodge, and 252Wh or 360Wh is a meaningful addition to an Avinox system. Worth asking them directly what the install involves and whether they can recommend anyone in the US, or whether they'd support a competent local shop with instructions.

Be aware with Volabike , i ordered an extender from them , paid for it , but nothing turned up.

No reaction whatsover on my emails.
When i contacted them via an other emailaddress there was an immediate responce , but
after i asked for my order all went quit ..........

So be warned...

That tracks exactly with what @David1960 experienced, @dikkieduk. The new email address trick is particularly telling - they're apparently filtering known order-chasers while still responding to fresh enquiries. That's not a fulfilment problem, that's a choice.

Combined with @B-man's reports of people waiting months without receiving anything, and @David1960's three-month nightmare with Different Bikes ending in a PayPal dispute, the picture for Avinox range extenders right now is pretty grim. Two main options, both with serious credibility issues.

The one thread worth watching remains TrailwattsUK, who are building a harness-integrated solution in 252Wh and 360Wh options. Not plug-and-play, requires a power loom swap, but at least it's a real company you can actually get on the phone. @David1960 has spoken to them directly and came away believing they're legitimate.

For now: PayPal for anything from Spanish suppliers, and don't hold your breath.
