Hi, I hope someone can help me out.
The battery of my Batavus Razer with a Yamaha PW Series mid-drive motor (2018/19) failed with a BMS error. After looking into it, it seems not repairable for me, so I ordered a new battery. The only difference is that the old battery was a PASB2 and the new one is a PASB5. As far as I understand, Yamaha made these interchangeable, so I don’t think that should cause any issues.
With the new battery installed, my display won’t turn on. (The clock is on, as is always, so I assume the display itself is still okay.) The battery shows an error code where the top and bottom LEDs blink alternately: communication error.
I’ve checked all the cables and connections and don’t see anything unusual. Since I only replaced the battery, I suspect that the issue must somehow be related to that.
In this thread (https://www.emtbforums.com/threads/yamaha-e-bike-diagnostic-software-ver-2.23857/) I found the diagnostic software to read out the system, so I’m planning to try that next — but I have no idea whether it will actually help. update - tried this but since the LCD display won't turn on, it won't connect I guess.
Does anyone have any tips or ideas? Has anyone experienced the same problem?
