Paint was looking a bit tatty on the old girl and I had always wanted to raw a frame so decided to give it a go. Started off with this

Many hours with industrial paint stripper, sand paper and wet and dry later

Ended up with this
Quite pleased with how it turned out

So good. Looked into this a while back but it seems the chemical that strips paint has been removed from paintstripper What type did you have to use?

Starchem Synstrip. It's the proper stuff, I did it outdoors wearing chem gauntlets, eye protection and a decent mask. Even then it took quite a number of applications and further sanding. There is also filler around the top battery mount knuckle where it is welded to the frame, filled and sanded flat before painting, that was fairly stubborn to sand off

I'd suggest paying £40 to get it sand blasted, much quicker and cheaper than using paint stripper.

I did think of that but also heard that the frame can be damaged and whilst I wouldn't rush to do it again I did quite enjoy the process

Did have the cranks stripped and re-anodised for £20 though

Really like it. Reminds me of the Commencal meta. Nice.

Local coating place. They dropped them in the bath to strip them while I waited, took them home and gave them a clean and polish and then dropped back to them

Might sell the frame and all ebike running gear if any interest, prob looking for £800. Two batteries, recent frame and headset bearings. Still an awesome bike, I just fancy a new one
