My bike would not got into e drive , and made a grinding noise , from the motor, when rotating the pedals .I thought bearings ,but after taking the tranfer gears holder out, Ive found these pair of when rotated makes a kind of rough grinding feeling .My question is can I just , can I knock the shaft out /spindle running through these gears also removing the bearing . And are both gears supposed to rotate on this shaft ?

Update I have taken these gears out of the housing and found a splines on the axle but no splines inside the gear it self , so I presume they have worn away ? I warmed the casing up lighty and it all fell out !

I think that's a design flaw for this part. I've replaced a couple on Bosch cx motors. I don't think there are any splines on the gear, just the splines on the shaft that gets pressed into the gear. In time, the assembly will get loose and the gear won't transfer the torque to the shaft so the motor will keep spinning this gear but shaft won't spin. You need some machining but I think there are ways to get those parts(gear and geared shaft) to stay engaged/fixed.

You mean weld it ? I think thats the best and cheapest way . But thank you for the feedback .Merry Christmas

Weld it, press a bush with proper splines, etc. Bearing man might have a workaround for this.

Great idea ! Any idea where I could buy a bush with inner splines like this ?
I don’t know of such a ready product. Whem I’m in need, I usually go a local specialized metal workshop and work out a solution with them. There was a similar case with early batch of EP800 motors where a polymer gear thread will get ripped prematurely.
