Firstly would like to say that bike out of the box is 100% OK out of the box if you just trail ride. I’m a big unit and the Revelation forks were basically annoying me. I hated the squelching sound the damper makes. (Mouse in the house ) I looked at converting to Pikes and while I was there increasing to 160mm travel. Was going to cost around 600 Aussie. And I would still have pikes. Discussing with local suspension people who were great and worked out fairly quickly I could sell my RS Revelations and with the 600 could own some grip 2’s. No brainer really. ( forks sold easily )

So now I would have some gold up the front. Better balance that out and get the DPX2 and throw some more travel in while I’m there. Shop gave a further 10% discount for buying a package. Win. Found nothing wrong with the original shock, just balancing out the look. Still have not sold the shock.

The bars and stem were changed for no reason and are just like the drops protection, just to make the bike mine.

Alu Comp. why? Not a carbon fan and so saw no worth in the upgraded specs if I decided to change out any components. LBS did a great deal and basically got the bike for the same price as the base model but now had the dropper post that I preferred. And with the saved cash I push asked the 700 watt battery. So for the same price as the comp I had the 700 watt battery and still own the 500 watt as well. Not selling it and it’s there if I want to ship a battery overseas and then fly the bike, or if I want to go away for a big weekend and have no charging capability.

So that sit and this is what it looks like.
Ohhh yeah, changed stickers on the fork. The orange was a bit too out there for me

Nice upgrades! Can you actually still fit a water bottle in the cage or are you limited to smaller ones now?

Nice, I love the levo in that colour except for the decals, change those to black or camo and then you have my dream bike!

There is a LEVO Alu Comp coming in this color again 2020 if you don't know. I will change to the blue one.

My normal bike is a Trek XC bike with good suspension. I was never happy with the base line spec of my 2019 FSR. Yesterday I exchanged the fork for a Roxshocks Lyrik Ultimate RC2. That is the best 800€ I spent. It completely transformed the bike. Last weekend I where riding with better speced 2018 Levos and I noticed I was riding arround larger obstacles instead of riding wover them. Not anymore. Now I get what plush and butter smooth is. Now I also understand it’s reasoanble to pay 800€ for a fork.
Now I need to understand how the low and high speed comoression settings work out.

Here is my 2018 s-works. Grown over time :)

Fork is custom shimmed and at 160.
Bike was purchased as an expert in silver, red parts are ‚leftovers‘
all bearings replaced by enduro bearings (except rear triangle, sworks seems to have other (better) ones than expert. At least they were not dry when new)

I may have added a few shiney bits today!

Cushcore in the tyres. I was expecting a nightmare, front went on with no tyre levers, rear just needed a wee bit of persuasion! Less than 30 mins for both! I’m still baffled! :p
Went to Maxxis. I’ve had them before & prefer their predictability over the Butchers. I’m new at this, need all the help I can get!
Lyrik Ultimate RC2 & a Bomber CR out back!
I’m a delicate wee soul at 6’4 & 128kgs ;) The coil definitely copes better!
Can’t wait to get out Monday! :devilish:

Big thanks to you forum types! Lot’s of info on here & it certainly helped! (y)

God those blue pedals are awful.....black installed

Hi. What size spring did you get? I'm a similar weight and think the Marzocchi bomber could be the go. What size shock fits please? Is it just unbolt one bolt the other on? Cheers

Sorry, only saw this now.
800lb spring, biggest off the shelf spring from Tf Tuned.
210 x 55mm Bomber fits perfectly.
I used the original fittings from the Delux RT.

Delighted with the results! ?

Cheers! OK confession time, right now I'm 135kgs. Since you used the largest spring available, how's the sag? Would I have to shed a couple of kgs before installing?
Also does the bottle cage still fit?
Thanks mate!

Cage fits......
But a bottle in the cage certainly doesn’t!

Sag is at 30%. Shocks rides lovely!

I can’t see you having any problems.....we all need to lose a few kilo’s ?
For my weight the apparent correct spring is 877lbs. I certainly can’t notice anything amiss with the 800lb one. I’m not the best cyclist out there......but it certainly works for me! ?

I bought mine from Tf Tuning. They do an initial set up for you. I haven’t had to change it all. Delighted!

RockShox Lyrik RC2 160mm
Blackspire Snaggletooth 38t
DMR Wingbar 800m (35mm)
NS Bikes 45mm stem
LizardSkins Charger Evo grips
Maxxis Minion DHF 2.8" (front)
Maxxis Minion DHRII 2.8" (rear)
Pedaling Innovations Catalyst pedals
SQLabs saddle

Side note: It's about time that I get some new rubber, and I am on the fence, so feel free to give me some input. I am contemplating running a 29er up front (mullet!), and if I do, I am leaning towards Assegai (F) and another Maxxis (?) on the rear. However, if I just stay with the 27.5+ setup, then I will go with a pair of Michelin E-Wilds. What are your thoughts?

Hi,

can you please describe the difference between the both Lyrik forks? I´m thinking about upgrading my Lyrik with the Charger 2.1 RC2 upgrade kit, or go to the DT Swiss F535. I want it more comfortable...

A bit off the topic since my levo is arriving tomorrow. Got an excellent deal on a 2019 Levo Comp Carbon, so couldnt decline ;) A few questions to you guys who have done some amazing mods here:
1. I want to run 27,5" instead of 29" - Is that just swapping rims or do I have to change something on the bike as well?
2. I want to upgrade the fork to either a 36 or Lyric and run 160mm. Is it basically finding a fork that fits the bike and just swap them? How does the increased travel affect geometry?
