Rail (625Wh) Poor shifting

hi

have a XT shifter and a Slx derailleur on my trek rail
almost new jokey wheels, new cable; new Shimano chain and less than 700 km housing and lately my shifting even nicely tuned when downshifting lower gears it's all slow and clunky
the derailleur is less than 2 years and as no marks of big impacts
as the problems is only when downshifting is it possible the spring as lost tension? Even the hanger is almost new and torqued to specs
Normally, my Shimano drivetrains worked flawlessly for years and years without missing a beat

anny tips?

As you mentioned the spring in the derailleur, do you mean shifting to smaller cogs? That's upshifting to higher gears.
It may be time to replace the cable and housing.
Even a new hanger may need to be aligned to the frame.

If you have exhausted all the usual culprits without success, then check the mech hanger alignment. You don't have to remember getting a knock as it doesn't take much to misalign the mech and/or the hanger.

A mech hanger alignment gauge and tool (to straighten if out of alignment) can be expensive. It's up to you. I paid £10-15 to my LBS each time I took the bike in because I could not get the shifting how I wanted. Each time it was the alignment. This started happening when I went to 11-speed and then 12-speed. Eventually I bought my own gauge (it's a gauge and tool all in one).
I have never regretted it, those 12-speed mech arms are in harm's way every time I ride.

It is a quick and simple thing to do; you don't even have to break the chain, just lift it off the ring and lay it on the axle. Let the mech hang on the loose chain.
 
Its possible your chain requires tweaking up a little more tensioning....

Select the chain for the smallest cog, now focus on the length of chain below chain stay for possible sag....
If chain noticeably sags nip it up via the derailleur tensioning adjuster.... when chain tension levels out back it off just enough so chain has a fraction of give, not tight.....

You may require to go through the processes again of cable adjustment fine tune....
 
Yup. You didn't even mention your chainring or cassette. When you combine an old cassette and chainring with a new chain, it often leads to unhappiness. I'd be thinking about a new cassette, and maybe even a chainrin

the culprit was the cable housing around the motor, have a small kink
the rail is a nightmare on cable routing around the motor, even worse for me because of using moto style brakes
