I had a spare e-bike but it was a Giant “hardtail” Explore GTS-2, so I sold it a few months back.
I’ve been browsing Craigs List for a back up Trek Powerfly and found this 2022 FS 4 listed for $2900 with only 135 miles on it.. Seller accepted my $2700 offer as he knew it was a 3.5 hour round trip for my drive to his house.

Coinidently, The Powerfly FS 4 was the one I was looking at a year ago, but it was $5,130 new with tax. Then Trek starting cutting prices a few months ago and dropped the FS 4 down to $3,999 or $4,318 with tax.

Patience pays off . . . The 2023 model is essentially the same as the 2022. Priced at $4,250 or 4,590 with tax. So by dropping back a year to a 2022, I saved -$1,890.

I say spare bike because especially from reading our forum threads e-bikes can easily develop issues especially with the motor or electronics and I know we can easily lose it for a month waiting for a warranty repair, parts etc.

Pic is a stock photo, but this FS 4 is identical and the color is Trek's classy Metallic GunMetal.
