Pi**ed of Shigura. What should I go for?

Yep looking at them too. Still not entirely sure I want to go for a brand that is that new and with no history. Especially for the maintenance over time.
The problem with Lewis is that it is basically a knock off of the trickstuff, there is no sugar coat here. We are not talking about only the look ... after a while they tried to implements over it their own kind of ideas (not all were good).

Either you don't care they copy it, void all kind of law or not, etc. It is still a shady company.

Have in mind that they were not on same level quality so but they improve along the way and no matter what yes, they might be quite good nevertheless.

Dale Stone does best brake reviews out of anyone. If you are interested in any brakes make sure to check him and his reviews. He has done multiple videos about Lewis brakes but I suggest you start with this one. Answers all your questions.

Depateable. Depending where you draw the line of copying and "research". I think Dale Stone has done more proper research into this topic than anyone else. He has also reviews a lot of popular brakes without being influenced by sponsors etc. Best bike part reviews I have come across.

He said it himself, up to you to accept or not the way they kind of do a copycat and live with it.
In the end he is an influencer and make money from YouTube, he cannot sh.. on people or brand without being censored.
I am not sure where I would draw the line but not care much as I would not switch DomA4 for anything else.

Yeah, I followed Dale Stone’s reviews already.

I am still not convinced by Lewis.

In the Dale Stone sheet, Hope brakes are on top of the list. And the price difference, although not insignificant, is not that much. Also in consideration of the proven longevity and serviceability of the Hope's.

As of now Hope V4 are on top of my list. The Dominion A4 as alternative. Even though I am not a fan of their build quality :)

You mean the finish overall look ? The built quality is great but they are not bling bling and at the same time it is true that some halves are not always 100% aligned but it is just invisible.

Go for Hope is what you look for is custom colors and premium look more than feel. Both are great but ergonomic is totally different.
Both does not give you also the power in the same ramp but we are in the details.

Yes he did and that's what I meant also. But wanted to make sure people have the right information about the subject instead of repeating some narrative they have heard somewhere.

Personally I'm hoping Hayes and Hope will soon drop dot fluid and switch to mineral oil just like SRAM has done.. about time.

Yes he gets money from YouTube obviously but the point was he is not sponsored by those brands so he is free to say whatever he likes unlike most riders/teams/YouTubers etc who are in contract with certain brands or whos business model is dependant on those or future sponsors.

That's also one reason people enjoy his content because he gives clear positive and negative remarks about the products and suggests changes. People are so fed up with marketing speeches and talking points so it's really freshresing to see some actual information about products.

For Dominion I definitely refer to their finish, not overall quality. Seems like there is pretty solid history on their reliability, also from this Forum.

I am looking at Hope for the way they deliver power in first place. And for the fact that I know I can rely on the Company for spare parts and repairs.

One thing I never liked about Magura, for example, is that you basically cannot service them. It’s a real waste.

Quick update on my leaky bleed port issue:

Magura told me to replace the whole caliper - yeah, no thanks.

I slapped a small copper washer under the bleed screw, and the leak's gone. Been dry ever since, even under pressure.

Cheap, easy, and it works. Might help someone in the same boat.
