The valve is really close to the frame and does not allow Rockshock pumps to fit. Fitting a topeak pocket pump also feels like you could cross thread as you have such little space to play with. Poor design in my view.

which shock? I never had a problem with the DPS on a carbon frame, and I have a RS pump

One of the shocks (can't remember which one, but it's not the float x2) is supposed to come with a screw on valve extender on the wild, to make it easier to screw on a shock pump, maybe yours is missing?

Deffo X2 friend got same issue except had shock loose all air so shock pump scratched inside of frame arm

Hmmm I have the x2 on my wild, and can't say I've noticed an issue, I suppose space is a bit tight but it's not caused me a problem

The DPX2 Shock is not the same as the Float X2.
The Blue Paper has this notice:
In models with a FOX DPX2 shock that use the air valve extender, it is necessary to
add a 5% extra air pressure to the target pressure when inflating the shock to compensate
for the air volume in the valve extender. Once the shock pump is removed,
this extra 5% air pressure will be lost, and the pressure within the shock air chamber
will be the correct one.

My Float X2 does not have this issue.

I had a similar issue with x2 shock,
I have 4 shock pumps and could only get one of them to screw on slightly. The valve is too close to the frame brace.
I got over it initially by using a Topeak valve extender from CRC but they don’t appear to stock them now. That was short lived though as it stopped engaging the valve after a couple of uses.
More recently I borrow a shockwhiz to inflate / check pressure which is a right PITA.
