I want convert the bike from rim sensor to disc rotor sensor (Orbea Wild blue paper say it's compatible with the slim sensor of Bosch)
At the moment the bike is at the dealer waiting for Orbea to help them to enable this feature (taking ages imho) Anybody have done this?

Cheers,
Ruben

Hi @xsurfy

How did it go with the conversion? is it a carbon frame?

Cheers

Michael
Hi Michael,

The hardware was easy to install, need to take the motor out for it (did it myself) After that Orbea change a setting at the dealer. I asume its the same for Alu or carbon, there is only one blue paper on Orbea's site. I have an Alu.

Attach some pics, part numbers and the final result (with the speedi mounted also)

Hope it helps ;-)

Hi Xsurfy

That's exactly what I needed to know. I bought the parts already, I just hope the carbon frame (my bike is arriving in a couple of days) has the same thread where I can screw the clip on it.
Appreciate all the pictures 👍

Michael

Hi Xsurfy

last thing: to run the speed sensor cable inside the chainstay did you have to remove the brake line and use it as runner? Of course this would require a bleeding at the end.
Thanks

Michael

i did route the cable inside the chainstay, didin't have to remove the brake for it.

forgot to mention, you need to remove also the chainstay (single pivot bolt) to route the cable and fish it at the back where the sensor should be mount (best way for me). officially the cable goes inside that rubber, i choose to do it next to it. You will figure it out ;-)

Hello Ruben and Xsurfy. This thread is great. I have a carbon 2023 wild and looked through this thread and the blue papers and just ordered all the bits. Just wondering about the reprogramming? How did that go? Is it a quick process? Does it need to be with an orbea stockist or will a Bosch service centre be able to do it for me once I've installed all the bits. I'm out in the sticks a bit here and the nearest orbea dealer I can find is a 3hour drive. I'm in Somerset. Hope you can help. Gonna start ringing around tomorrow and see what I can find out.
Many thanks Jim

This is amazing.

I wonder if the magnet sensor that is offered on the Maguro rotors would work for those that don't have centerlock hubs?

Hi, Orbea did it with the dealer. Bosch did not want to do it, maybe cuzz the bike still has warranty. According to the dealer it was a simple software setting.

Hope it helps,
Ruben

Brilliant. Thanks Ruben. I think I'll ring them and see if they can get everything ready so I don't need to leave the bike with them and hope they can do it while I wait. Thanks mate. Jim

Hi you can mail NLS. They are pretty lax and are willing to help ;-)

Two wheels empire has a lot of hubs listed, maybe yours is there.

Cheers,
Ruben
