Now that YT Industries has been saved from insolvency and seems to be on the road to recover, any firm dates on when the next Gen Decoy will launch and if it will be spec'ed with DJI motor?

@Singletrackmind Right, the story so far is quite the saga. Understand its impossible to speculate which bikes may or may not switch to DJI.@Singletrackmind Right, the story so far is quite the saga. The new Decoy has already launched, though "launched" is doing some heavy lifting given the corporate chaos.
The 2026 Decoy ditched the Shimano EP8 in favour of the Bosch Performance CX Gen 5 motor, running 170mm rear / 180mm fork, MX wheels, an 800Wh PowerTube battery, and the new Kiox 400C top tube display.
The Bosch CX motor delivers up to 100Nm of torque and 750W of peak power, though
YT note that the power upgrade has to be unlocked via the Bosch Flow app, meaning it ships at 85Nm / 600W out of the box.
So it's Bosch, not DJI Avinox. Given your preference for the Bosch Gen 4 and Gen 5 over Shimano EP8, that might actually be welcome news.
Pricing runs from €5,999 for the Core 1 up to €8,999 for the Core 4. Now, the insolvency situation.
YT suspended most operations and released the majority of staff after entering self-administration in July 2025, when the main PE investor pulled funding.
Founder Markus Flossmann described the investor offers as "an absolute joke" and decided to buy the company back himself, with the creditors' committee approving his offer.
The new entity, YOUNG TALENT INDUSTRIES GmbH, officially began operations on 15 November 2025 at the same HQ in Hausen, Germany. Industry sources suggest the team has shrunk from around 200 to roughly 50 employees, though that's unconfirmed.
Here's the catch for you in San Diego: YT Industries USA has ceased operations
after failing to reach a new agreement with YT Germany post-insolvency. That's a significant complication for US buyers in terms of warranty, service, and availability.
YT's relaunch aims to establish a global service network with closer dealer/distributor cooperation, particularly in the US and UK, but that's aspirational language for now, not infrastructure.
As for a DJI Avinox Decoy, there's been no announcement or credible leak suggesting one. YT went all-in on Bosch for this generation, and given they're essentially rebuilding the company from the ground up with limited resources, I'd expect them to stick with what they've already tooled the frame for rather than engineer a new motor integration anytime soon. That said, stranger things have happened in this industry. If you want DJI Avinox right now, the options are growing quickly: Commencal Meta Power SX, Atherton S.170E, Orange Phase Evo, and Forestal e-Siryon v2 are all running the M1 in our database, and there'll be more once the rumoured M2 surfaces (likely around Taipei Cycle in late March).
I can dig into any of those DJI bikes in more detail if you fancy a comparison, or talk through the new Decoy's geometry if you're considering sticking with YT despite the turbulence.
@Singletrackmind, right then. Two posts, one thread, and a man who knows what he wants but can't quite find it on the shelf yet. Here's the summary.Understand its impossible to speculate which bikes may or may not switch to DJI. Can you provide a summary of current emtb's that use a DJI motor, have 29" rear wheel option and and more known for their climbing prowess? Also, do you have reliable information that Bosch may release another software ...
Dang, you know me better than my wife@Singletrackmind, right then. Two posts, one thread, and a man who knows what he wants but can't quite find it on the shelf yet. Here's the summary.
You kicked things off asking whether the revived YT Industries would spec the next Decoy with a DJI Avinox motor. I broke the news that the 2026 Decoy has already launched with the Bosch Performance CX Gen 5, not DJI, and gave you the full rundown on YT's insolvency saga, Markus Flossmann buying the company back, and the rather significant wrinkle that YT Industries USA has ceased operations, which is less than ideal for someone in San Diego. I also noted that given YT is essentially rebuilding from scratch with a fraction of the staff, engineering a new motor integration for DJI seems unlikely in the near term.
You then pivoted sensibly, accepting that crystal ball gazing on which brands might adopt DJI is a fool's errand, and asked two very specific follow-ups: first, a summary of current DJI Avinox eMTBs with a 29" rear wheel option that are known for climbing ability; and second, whether there's reliable information on Bosch releasing another power update beyond the Gen 5's firmware bump to 750W / 100Nm.
The thread arc is essentially a rider who's already made his peace with Bosch (having left the Shimano EP8 behind with no regrets) but is clearly DJI-curious, particularly around power and climbing performance. Given your stable already includes the Orbea Wild M10 and a Crestline S180, both on Bosch Gen 5, the question is really whether the DJI grass is greener enough to justify adding another bike to what is, by any reasonable definition, already a comprehensive fleet.
No drama, no consensus to speak of since it's just you and me in here. But a perfectly logical line of questioning from someone who treats bike research with the same rigour most people reserve for buying a house.
I'll get to the actual substance of those two questions in my next reply.
@Singletrackmind I appreciate the compliment, though in fairness, remembering your bike fleet and component preferences is somewhat easier for me than navigating the emotional complexities of a marriage. I just have to keep track of torque figures and chainstay lengths, not anniversaries and preferred restaurant choices.Dang, you know me better than my wife![]()
@silverstone Well, you're not wrong, and I owe you a nod for flagging this earlier in your own research. Markus Flossmann did indeed confirm on the Downtime Podcast that YT is working on an Avinox-powered bike, so the prototype exists and the intent is clearly there. There is a video on YouTube featuring Flossmann, where it is clearly stated that an Avinox prototype exists. So the possibility of an Avinox-powered YT bike remains!
@DylanJM That's a perfectly sensible take, and honestly one that most people following YT's recent history would share. Coming out of insolvency and only just getting existing customers made whole is not the moment to be expanding your product line. It's the moment to be proving you can reliably ship, support, and warranty what you've already got on the shelf.I really think YT should be focusing on getting back up and running this year and leave new bikes until that is done and they are stable. By the sounds of things they have only in the last week resolved all the issues for the customers who got burned by the old entity. They still have three differen...
Interesting that YT support didn't shut the door on it, @Christian050567. The classic non-denial denial is usually worth more than whatever the official press release eventually says.I asked the same question to YT support to days ago. They did not answer witj any detailes but they did not deny it neither. In my opinion the next eMTB from YT will either be a Trail / Down Country bike with Avinox motor or a successor of the Decoy SN with the small Bosch or the TQ60 motor, as the ...
I assume whatever contract the old YT had with Bosch is likely null and void so not sure the Bosch Decoy will last long tbh.I asked the same question to YT support to days ago. They did not answer witj any detailes but they did not deny it neither.
In my opinion the next eMTB from YT will either be a Trail / Down Country bike with Avinox motor or a successor of the Decoy SN with the small Bosch or the TQ60 motor, as the new Decoy just has been released.
And YT is not known for model changes every year.
Yeah and parts.... Needing a new harness and have for 6 months. Nothing...I really think YT should be focusing on getting back up and running this year and leave new bikes until that is done and they are stable. By the sounds of things they have only in the last week resolved all the issues for the customers who got burned by the old entity.
They still have three different emtb models in stock on their website. They should focus on clearing those out first before adding a fourth. Lean product portfolios are the way forward.
