Newbie, new bike

Hi, new to emtb, tried a friends now looking to buy, the question is do I buy a fairly cheap one and then upgrade later or do I go balls deep and buy a decent one so don’t want to upgrade about 3 months later

What bike does your friend have?

Would also be good to visit your LBS to see what they have and what deals they can offer

In my opinion buying cheap usually means buying twice

Specialized Levo can be had for your budget at the moment

Firstly you need a bike that matches your style of riding and experience/ skill level. Then buy the best bike in that category you can afford. If you are new to emtb you are best advised buying from a local bike shop so that you have that support at least during the warranty period. That may reduce your options in terms of brands.
