Hey all,

Newbie here. Just a quick message to say hey and introduce myself. New to eMTb, but looking for some advise on my first purchase.

I have the option of a 2023 Orbea Rise M10 for £4400 with a EP8 motor and a 360WH battery
or a 2025 Orbea Rise LT H10 for £4800 with a EP801 Gen2 motor and a 630WH battery.

The M10 has been sat in the shop for about a year with questionable battery charge and minimal usage.
The H10 would be new in box.

Obvs the M10 would be the lighter bike with slightly better spec, but less battery life
The H10 is slightly heavier but with much better battery life and an alloy frame which may actually suit me better as its a bit more robust.

I think probably the H10 is a better bike for me, but can't get past the M10 has been reduced from £8K and the seduction of the light weight carbon frame.

Any advice welcome please!

Have you not just answered your own question? 🤣🤣🤣. I‘m in the depths of research and keep flitting between SL and Full Fat. I think you need to get your head around range first, and do bear in mind if you want to up the range on the discount model, you’ll be having to shell out another £500.

How about the Wild ST? Comes with 600wh battery and gen 5 Bosch CX motor. Might need a few upgrades but that can be done over time.

I can easily get 70+ kms on a single ride with my 360wh Fuel EXE. My 625wh Rail typically gets 40kms. But those numbers are on different terrain, different elevation, different tires and different uses.
If I had to choose one …it would be the full fat Trek rail…but I would change the type of tires for level terrain, and change back to an aggressive grip tire for the steep trails.

I use two sets of of wheels and tires for the Fuel EXE. I can change those in less than 5 minutes when I need to. So my Fuel EXE becomes a touring bike, or a EMTB. I use the Rail exclusively for trails at elevation.

I’m also a lightweight …so your mileage may vary.

Welcome to the forums.
Cheers.
