I have a Kenevo at the moment with Rovals the rims have been pretty good but bearing front and rear been changed under warranty. I had DT on analogue bike so when Rovals are knackered i will definitely look to upgrade to H1501 or H1700 depending on how flush i feel at the time.

Great wheelset, DT Swiss are easy to maintain and you can swap to any freehub type including the new Shimano spline 12 speed if you fancy changing drivetrains later.

I upgraded my Levo Expert to the HX1501 wheel set which is excellent if pricey. Paid £680.

Same, I upgraded the Raceface wheels that came std with the Focus Jam2 to HX1501's (800EUR delivered to Aust). Great wheels!
Raceface's now have Speed King RaceSport tyres on them for commuting, riding with better half, etc.
HX1501 have DHF/DHR2 combo, very happy with the setup.

That's the heart of the wheel/tyre setup -> as long as what we're using suits the way we ride and the terrain we ride therefore giving us confidence in the bike will go where we expect it to (most of the time ) for me, that's all there is to it!

upgraded my2018 levo carbon comp with the 29" dt swiss h1900 spline 30 and set up tubeless with minions dhr2 on rear and dhf on the front, wheel set come with valves and choice of free hubs and six months of riding have been faultless so very happy.

I upgraded my Levo Hardtail with the DT Swiss H1700 Spline 30, running Maxxis Ardent Race front and Maxxis Ikon rear tubeless. Rock solid, easy to maintain, I’m very satisfied with them. Foto from a tour today in South Tyrol.

I'm also looking after DT Swiss H1700 29" 30mm wheelset, any good deals out there? Are they only available with white colored hubs or do they also exist in black? Thanks!

Wiggle often have good deals on single DT SWISS wheels (perhaps not just now though )
Pretty sure all black hubs are an option (Yeah, I agree white hubs are a horrendous idea on any bicycle except maybe a track bike)
Rims are great.
spokes are good quality but I'd avoid straight pull spokes on an mtb and even more so on an Emtb, there are 3 reasons for this, firstly straight pull spokes can rotate slightly in use under compression and side loads, The positive of this is the spokes don't loosen when this happens and the wheel remains well tensioned. the negative (for Ebike use) is that your wheel magnet spoke WILL rotate at some point.
The second reason is from a maintenance POV. straight pull spokes are a PITA to true, especially when older and even more so when built with alloy nipples. The third reason is availability of replacement straight pull spokes over J bend in LBS
I'm not sure what all the easy to maintenain comments in this thread pertail to. But DT 350 hubs are far from EASY to maintain. both hubs need specialist DT Swiss tools and replacing the drive side hub shell bearing involves removing the ratchet ring on the rear hub which requires a bench mounted vice and often a lot of leverage.

Ignoring all of the negative points above, they're still a decent off the shelf wheelset. I'd buy a set if heavily discounted but at full RRP there are loads of good quality far easier to maintain flanged (J-bend) hubs out there you could build (or have built) with whatever DT swiss rims you fancy.

If there's nothing wrong with your current wheels I'd honestly consider holding off until the world (and bike industry) is back on it's feet again, stock is replenished and there are more choices and more competitive prices

Luckily I don't need just now, but in next months when I'm planning to upgrade to 12spd Shimano drivetrain (so I will need a Microspline freehub body). They look like a perfect wheels for me, except it seems like there is no option for black coloured hubs, big turn down point, I really don't wanna paint a brand new wheels/hubs ... Of course I would not pay full RRP, they are selling in few shops for a bit more than 500€ / £450 for complete wheelset. Are there any better options for this budget out there? Hope Fortus 30 - Pro 4 and HUNT E_Enduro seems to be also e-bike specific but much heavier and they both have pawl freehub system. Thanks!
