Hi guys,

I am new to the forum and hope you do not mind the question.

I am about to order an eBike and have narrowed down my choice, based on what I can get hold of in the next 3/4 months, and wanted to get some thoughts. My options are,

- Haibike Hardnine 9 (Bosch 625)
- Cube Reaction Pro 625

There is around a grand difference in price. The Haibike would be from a fairly local store and the Cube would be from a store on the southwest coast, I’m based in Kent.

Anyway, being new to this it would be good to get some experienced advice, any help appreciated.

CZ.

I think important to buy form a Local shop, especially if you are not the greatest home mechanic (which you might be!) The Haibike is a better spec, though is still pretty entry level components wise - I would say you would want to get a dropper post installed right away too. I believe you can also run a range extender battery on the Haibike too.

Is it Energize E-Bikes, the store in Kent?

HI,

Thanks for coming back to me.

I agree the local store is the preferred route, but is the difference between the two worth nearly a grand? My intension is to use the bike on road, cross country and occasionally off-road. I won’t be bouncing it of rocks and trees or doing crazy stuff - hence the hard tail. The main thing for me is a comfortable ride across multiple surfaces. I have seen many people using a Cube bike but never seen a Haibikel of this ‘spec’ in the wild and while the Hardnine 9 is apparently the top of the line in its class whare are the real world comparison?

many thanks

cz.

The cube will be fine for that purpose.

The spec on the bikes main noticeable difference to you as a rider out in the real world, is probably the front fork on the Haibike, which is the Gold 35 - this is not an amazing fork, but is Rockshox entry level proper MTB suspension fork.

For the riding you are doing this probably won't make a difference, and upgrading the fork later can be done cost effectively.
