From my LBS, the availability of the "new bike" will be more like June. Saw my first G4 today, yes it's a biiiiiig downtube, but yeah 101 nm.

What is it? a new retro colorway with a coil shock?
uglyWhat is it?
Agreed looks a mess, if that is it.ugly
That's almost certainly a just trade show display bike. No way they offer that as a production colorway imo. It also looks pretty standard bar the colour way and coil shock. What is it? a new retro colorway with a coil shock?
I was listening to the Downtime podcast with Kris Kyle; it was fascinating.
At the end, he mentions he's heading to the US in early December to film a video for Specialized's new eBike.
New Kenevo? Can't be a Levo.

Another one designed by the Stevie Wonder fan club…Can't wait to see it and be let down again......
Long travel levo?It’s a variant
I struggle to see how they are achieving that without significantly compromising on the spec (i.e. light duty tyres, etc. ) but we'll see.My lbs, a big Specialized dealer, said he'll have a demo fleet of the new Spesh Levo R by the end of February. I have a Gen 4 Comp (the pink, er, "champagne" color), but I have it currently as my 3rd favorite (out of 3) emtb. First is the Amflow PL Carbon followed by 1a Orbea Wild (Gen 5 Bosch).
My Spesh dealer sa8d the new Levo R will be, essentially, the same specs as the Gen 4 Levo but 8-10 lbs lighter. I am interested as the weight of my Levo makes it feel... ponderosa? Especially compared to the Amflow & the Wild, which is also around 47-48 lbs. Even though it's only a 6-7 lb weight difference, it feels vastly heavier.
Agree with everything you said. Just repeating what my dealer said. He spent a week with Spesh in AZ test-riding SEVERAL new Specialized bikes (7 analog, 3 ebikes). Seems like A LOT of sku's, which doesn't seem smart in this bike economy. Less sku's is the smarter business decision, but we'll see.I struggle to see how they are achieving that without significantly compromising on the spec (i.e. light duty tyres, etc. ) but we'll see.
I feel their best route would be a new front triangle with a slimmer down tube with a fixed batteries but still using the same motor. The current batteries look like they have a lot of casing material which could be done away with moving to a fixed battery. Look at what Kellys were able to do with their battery casings. A lot of weight can be saved with more development there.
Interesting. If your dealer is saying demo bikes at end of Feb then the embargo must be dropping very soon.Agree with everything you said. Just repeating what my dealer said. I ordered a new R version for my partner. My dealer wasn't able to tell me many details but was putting an order in and knew I wanted one for her. He said about 8 ish lbs lighter with smaller battery and less "burly" spec so assuming maybe lighter tires, maybe lighter suspension? I think Specialized has underperformed if the only features of the new bike compared to the old one are a smaller battery and lighter parts.I ordered a new R version for my partner. I got a good idea on some of the colors...he was showing me a few colors on other specialized bikes and asking approximately what she wanted.
He also rode them in Arizona and he is changing his bike to the lighter one. I'm 200 lbs and my partner is 120 so I think she will appreciate less weight but I like the big battery. Personally I only notice weight when lifting it into my truck but not while riding.
what the heck, in which country is your lbs and how is he even able to make an order?!I ordered a new R version for my partner. The 600wh battery has shipped to markets around the world now. Here is its part number 98925-5681
You will also need the mounting bracket S246800005
Hmm that suggest it's just gonna be the same bike with the smaller battery and lighter build then. I'll be pretty underwhelmed if that's the case.I saw this about 1 week old FB post, maybe 600wh battery will be available to purchase after the release of this new lightweight Levo which you are all waiting for:
Had the Levo 4 for four days as a demo. Fast bike for sure, but just too heavy for my taste. You really feel the extra weight, and that massive downtube isn’t my vibe at all.My lbs, a big Specialized dealer, said he'll have a demo fleet of the new Spesh Levo R by the end of February.
