Fidlock was getting a bit noisy on rough terrain (on the Insta360).

So I fashioned a gasket out of inner tube

Random question, but where have you got your GoPro attached to get that viewpoint? I have the chest mount, but I guess you must have it round your waist or something to get that angle? I just have the top of my bars at the bottom of the screen!

I don’t use my GoPro anymore. I use an Insta360 X3 chest mounted.

Awesome build! Truly inspiring. I am doing a 'lightweight' version of this to go mullet or full 29 f/r (will test mullet first) on my S4 2023 Kenevo, and swapping most key components. However, I am struggling to find the optimal dropper post length. What size is the Fox Transfer you have fitted on your? I'd prefer the 200mm one, but then I'd have to be able to lower the tube almost completely into the frame, leaving only 1-2cm above, and I’m not sure the Kenevo frame has enough insertion depth for that..

Thanks …. I kept the transfer to 150mm which is perfect for me. 👍🏼

Update

I’ve read a lot about creaky stantions in the single crown Fox 38s. So I did a bit of precautionary maintenance. I got hold of some Loctite 648. I turned the bike upside down and applied some around the joint where the stantion meets the crown. Stood on the bars and wiggled the forks to work it into the seal. I then left it for 48hrs to set.
The beauty of 648 is that it’s very thin so can get into cracks easily and it only sets with lack of oxygen. Perfect for the job.

I also took the Kenevo out today for another blast. It’s more than I could ever want from a super enduro rig. So fast, turns, jumps and is so plush!

I’ve played with suspension a bit. Dialled down rebound in the shock and increased in the fork. It jumps balanced with a nice pop for a DH orientated rig.

Also, this is what I use to blast away the water after a quick wipe over. Absolutely no water is left anywhere, pivots, bearings, chain, etc. makes it easier to reapply wax.

Ah ….. my dropper is mostly down to be honest! 😂
Haha, yeah - but with longer travel it can go even further down in the lowered position for the same pedaling height ;) My aim is to have a dropper where the collar is sitting just on top of the seat tube, so the seat is as low as possible when 'dropped' 😊

Btw, nice touch with the blower to dry the bike :) I have an EGO 765CFM leaf blower I use for mine sometimes as well 👍😊

Update - AXS Dropper & Cockpit Changes

So the previous posts got me investigating my saddle height. It seems that my optimal raised position gave me around 20+mm spare that I could not use. So I investigated moving from 150mm to a 170mm dropper.

I absolutely adore the AXS drivetrain I just installed so naturally wanted to try the AXS Reverb dropper. So went and got one!

34.9mm x 170mm.

It arrived :

Straight away I knew I had a problem. The insertion shaft was around 20mm longer than the Fox Transfer SL Factory 150mm post.

I offered it up and it wouldn’t bottom out which is what I needed to get the right saddle height.

From investigation I found that the pivot bolts were stopping it in its tracks. It seems that there are ‘nipples’ at the end of them that prevents the dropper going further than the pivot insertion.

I took it into my own hands and got to work grinding off said nipples!

When installed and torqued I knew I had solved the problem - no nipples!

Installation was really easy and I paired it to the main AXS system.

From there I decided to tidy up the cockpit now that I had no dropper cable.

I wanted to lower the bar height by 10mm to get more weight on the front wheel. So I installed a 30mm rise carbon Renthal Fatbar (going from 40mm). Grips are temporary as I ordered GE1 EVO Factory Grips in stealth.

I also had to replace the heat shrink (which was a nightmare that resulted in a brake bleed!).

I installed cable tidy clips which the stem bolts slotted into that holds the cable in place. Making it nice and neat.

Performance of the dropper and the lower bars are great. I am surprised at how 10mm can make so much for weight distribution. Test ride at Degla proved some PBs.

Hard to describe the dropper performance but it’s so much better than cable operated. Very efficient and so quick to return to position. Feels ‘quality’

Awesome! I just god hold of a 175mm Fox Transfer Factory, but it's in 30.9mm diameter so hopefully it should slide past those nipple bolts making full insertion possible. Will try to install tonight and see, fingers crossed :) If not, you have already provided a solution for me - so thx in advance mate ;)

Btw, what is the total weight of your current/completed build, including pedals? :)

I think it will fit fine. My Transfer post felt like it was rubbing against something fully inserted so guess it was the nipple bolts.

I’ll weigh it later.

It’s a tad over 25kgs which I am happy with considering the Ohlins coil, AXS drivetrain and Dropper, Cushcore and heavy duty rubber making it a Super Enduro plough!

Isn't the Renthal stem meant to be a no gap torque on the bottom two bolts? By putting the tabs in there that is effectively changing the clamping forces.
Still a gap at the top and all torqued appropriately. Bars don’t move and I’ve used them fairly hard.

Idea was taken from a SRAM cockpit install video.
