I really like the wolftooth waveform, I tested countless pedal from top tier, really waste lots of money, but they are just awesome on my feet where DMR vault was just good.
The problem with Carbon wheel is that they lack compliance to me, especially vertical compliance and flex. True they are sharp but we are also talking about tiny differences and not everyone can feel them, if you do not race well this is also not as important. At the very least the rim should be pretty solid but can mark easily on side which I am not liking that much.
People usually try to compare the stock AL wheel with really expensive C ones which is not fair at all, mostly because of poor hub too. I have expensive, to me alloy wheel and the difference is really huge from stock, especially if you have a great hub.
Last thing, again to me, you need to think as a whole, from compliance to stiffness and what you feel/like/enjoy. I really like, for enduro, either a carbon/steel frame with alloy wheel or a alloy frame with carbon rim.
Hope you changed the tyres, I really think they were worst than I could have imagined on my trail
