Just a thought. There is a chance the motor could be dead beyond repair :-(. So might be left with an Levo bike and no engine :-( Probably cheaper to get a new :()

Whilst looking at the gutless thing in the shed. I began to wonder if a standard BB could be added and make it an ordinary bike again. Some sort of structure that could be manufactured and inserted into the frame where the motor once was.

There must be a load of dead ebikes out there that this could be done to!

Propbably already bin dun ;-)

Mental or Not ?

It would take a lot of custom machining and it's probably too much work for the payoff.
Can it be done. Yes
Should you. No way.

It’s worth approaching specialized about a motor replacement under their Assisted Replacement if the worst comes to the worst, as they ’cover’ the motor for 5 years. You won’t get a free replacement but they should be able to supply a motor. Seen someone post that they got a new motor & battery with a 50% reduction from them, but the page only specifies a ‘discount’
