I'll finally be legal in Moab. What seems like years ago already, around 2015-16, my son and I were riding up Amassa Back on analog bikes. Suddenly a group of riders passed us, going uphill like we weren't moving. Some rode up and over some boulders that would theoretically be impossible to ride up. When I caught up to them I found out they were doing a photo shoot for Specialized Levo. This was before they were available. They let my ride one. I was instantly hooked. Been on a Levo since they were available in Salt Lake City. Been on many a glorious trip to Moab with the Levo.

Time to start planning a trip! I want to duplicate this shot with my Levo.

I had a trip planned for Moab in 2 weeks but a 3 day trip to the western slope of Colorado resulted in 2 lacerated legs, a separated shoulder, a broken finger and a small bump on the noggin. Head bump not serious, but index finger is jacked so no single finger braking. Hell, between the shoulder and the finger, I couldn’t get the bike off the rack. My brother and a family friend helped so much. I hope those 2 still go.

Yes, It’s great news, just be aware that it doesn’t officially take effect until Spring 2026.

The fact that rental shops have racks and racks of e-mtb’s and “that’s pretty much all we rent”, means that no one is paying much attention to the closure rules.
I've been on a Levo for 8yrs in Utah now. They are still very anti-ebike here. I still get random people mutter at me, even on trails where ebikes are clearly legal. I've even had women and children laughand jeer at me. You have to time your passes carefully. Every guy looks at your bike when your going by and then starts muttering insanities. In Moab, way out in the boonies, I've had paid trail workers stop and talk to me about no ebikes. When in Moab, I try to do sunrise or sunset rides, with lights, just so I don't run into anyone. Anyway, enough negativity. I'll try to post up some good ebike routes that I like in Moab. One good one is Pothole arch and then take Captain Ahab on the way back. Cheers

Had a trail worker let me know that there was a ranger around that would ticket me in crested butte, but he personally didn’t care if we ride there. We don’t ride in Utah all year but in our week long trips for the last 3 years all we’ve gotten is shrugs. Ahab is awesome 🤩

I road in Moab for a week straight with 5 other people. We road our EMTB’s everywhere and never had any issues. Maybe in some parts of the country the stupid EMTB restrictions are enforced but I can gladly say in Az, Utah, and Colorado they are not.
