RRP Por guard rear? I have one, it s more designed to keep crap off the post and shock than the rider:

I fitted a mud hugger shorty on the front today, looks good. I did wonder about one for the rear.

Mudhugger on the rear is the only choice currently , works well on the meta
Mr Crud’s new front guard looks brilliant , Iam hoping he will make an adaption of the same designe to fit the rear .
I run a crud catcher as well on my meta , in winter , it really keeps the crap off the battery

I hope not to derail this thread but how effective are front fork mud guards? I'll be shopping for a front and rear mud guard for spring time.

Tamas - your bike looks pretty clean in that first pic!

They protect the fork stanchions 100% and less stuff is flying in your face...
For wet road riding, I put an extension with two zip ties and with that it's very effective.

+1 for the mudhugger, for me, riding is almost impossible in the wet without one, no matter what I wear my back and lower "back" get soaked, with this thing on, I seek out dirt without a single f given. love em

on my front I've got an rrp and its a beast, had one of those flimsy bendable ones first, then a small fox specific upgrade, but neither did much to stop dirt covering my face AND the bike, with the rrp it keeps the forks really clean which is a bonus, but my face is completely protected too, the only part of my bike that gets caked now is the underside of the downtube.

Been trying this new crud xl fender on the front , it’s great , I think it looks good , certainly very effective and it fits and removes in seconds . The height is very adjustable with total mud clearance . It also looks good on a 29er and a normal 27.5 mtb
Iam considered a mudguard nerd by many of the youngsters and my mates , lots of riders don’t think mudguards are cool ,no idea why , being wet and cold isn’t cool to me , but when they saw this one the comments were all very positive .
I’ve got the old crud catcher on the downtube as well , main reason is it keeps the crap off the battery . I really can’t stand wearing goggles or glasses and this set up is working ? so far fir keeping my face and eyes clean

That Crud XL Fender looks interesting, thanks for the heads up!

My current commuting setup is Mudhugger front & rear. Couldn't live with the nasty looks of the rear MH so I modified it a bit. The setup looks like this:

EDIT: Sorry, did not notice that this thread was in Commencal section, hope you don't mind. My badbadbad.
