great to see all these dji motored bikes, more choice and competition will surely bring the prices down a bit and encourage others to join the game with something interesting. Shame the new Yamaha motor hasn’t been taken up by a few brands for next years bikes. I do like the Propain sresh cf but they need to get a better motor in it, the Yamaha PW-X4
with 100nm & 800w would do nicely.

Abit of deciptive advertising on their website when they have at the top of page gives the impression that the 800wh megamo is "under 18kg" with the 800Wh, YET after a search I found actually correct weights of each model AND the 17.9kg is for the 140/140 travel carbon WITH 600Wh , 800Wh adds 1kg, so its actually 18.9kg. BUT I would still buy this over the AMFLOW because never been a fan of the kinked toptube look on any mtb/ebike.

The voiceover is hilarious. Red flag on these is no apparent cable ports in the frame. That makes any bike an arse to work on.

Well I can't find any UK dealers yet and the Alsobikes website is pretty basic!

The Crussis E-Full is a very comparable bike with frame ports but it's not as good looking, doesn't look like it will be sold in the UK & isn't out until next year anyway.

The website in UK pounds is not far off.
We are currently on a road trip around the UK signing up dealers.
If you are a dealer or a potential buyer and would like to know more about timelines for the REASON please email [email protected] and we will give you all the info we have.
looking forward to some questions on the forum.
Cheers

yes for me too , didn't notice before , why do brands keep using this shite o_O

After the initial looks of a bike drawing me in I always check through my list of requirements.
Was taken in by the unno until i discovered it was wireless gears only 😡

Removable big battery (or fast charge)
No ugly side loading battery (unbelievable i had to add this in 2025)
No battery key lock
No headset cable routing
Provision for gear and dropper cables
Dual crown compatible ideally
Mullet or mullet compatible
No rim magnet (or other difficult to defeat restriction methods)
Fully serviceable motor by 3rd parties

This also appears to have a non removable battery which is a no no for me & a shallow seat tube. I really like the aesthetic of this bike but the closer I look, the more questions I have.

Thanks Adam for posting
the bikes look good and it is good that we will have another DJI powered option in the UK with dealer support going forward. But as others have said, some things are not so positive
Would be great to know time lines and if you could convince Megamo to drop headset routing then that would be cool :) , not gonna happen I know
  • Headset cable routing , is a just a big no no for most people and for servicing. it makes it just a pain.
  • Short seat tube insertion , limiting dropper post size.
  • No option for removable battery.
But anyway it's good to see another brand coming to the UK and adding the DJI powered option to the mix. Best of luck and look forward to further updates.

Great list... I used your outline as a start for my wish list for a bike as beautiful as the Megamo

Removable battery 800 min (to travel on airline)

The ability to slow charge to extend the life of the battery vs fast charge only

No headset cable routing… what is that all about

Hall Effect sensor instead of magnet

Ability to defeat restriction methods

Fully serviceable motor by 3rd parties

Less than 25 kg for a 38 fork, Less than 23 kg for a 36 fork

Cable shifting

Shimano drive train and brakes Deore XT

Hello, pleased to say we should have some of the Megamo Reason models in our new showroom to demo this year so please get in touch if you need any advise or a test ride

I sent megamo uk importer an email back a few months, expressing my interest in buying the Reason, but never received a reply. Great start to a new venture 🤔😉. So I looked elsewhere with my hard earned cash, needless to say I found someone else who is happy to recieve the notes from my account. Bonus is it doesn't have a Chinese motor or frame, which was my preferred choice, along with a removable battery (double bonus). Even though the megamo looks great, in a couple of weeks I will be very fortunate to pick up a bike with a name I've lusted after for decades, but could not afford.

There’s no retail stock yet to our knowledge in the UK so Megamo Reason bikes cannot be acquired yet. But they look to be well worth the wait from our perspective

If you have a dialogue with the manufacturer rather than the distributor who is up thread, then please take this in the constructive spirit intended because it's a great looking bike but there are drawbacks with it which are principally headset cable routing without the option of cable ports in the downtube & a non removable batery which is such a downer in the freezing (!) UK.

Maybe trhis can be fed back to Megamo, maybe they know all this & have made choices already but I know i really want to like this bike but these things are killing it for me.

and bonus was i got it for a fantastic discount (although still ootw hm 😮 price). Never spent anywhere near as much on a bike before (except ones you fill with petrol).

View attachment 168733Nice , yes crazy money , when you consider what you can get motorbikle wise, my KTM 690 enduro was cheaper than either of my Whyte E160 RSMX r Trek Rail Gen 5 anything to do with MTB is an extra ££ :) , but we do it because it's fun and a blast,
