Marzocchi Bomber Z1 - "sweep" knob (compression) not working

Hello dear friends,
I have a 2019 Marzocchi Bomber Z1 coil fork on my e-bike (Specialized turbo levo) and I am (was?) very happy with it.
It is almost the same as the Fox 36 fork.
In the past (until a few weeks ago), I could get the fork to be very stiff when completely closing the golden colored "sweep" knob (top of the right leg); knob fully rotated clockwise.
Then I would open the valve by rotating the knob half way counterclockwise to the "open" sector of the knob. Then the fork would behave as a sweet soft fork. That was perfect for me.

Now the new development: a few weeks ago I realized that now the knob does not seem to have ANY effect: no matter where it is set - from fully left to fully right - the fork behaves the same: way too soft.

I thought that maybe some of the damper oil leaked out and so today I did the full lower leg service: I changed the oil (10 cc 5 Wt on the coil side; 40 cc Wt 5 on the damper side) but no difference: fork still soft in ANY position of the knob. (Old oil was looking good anyway and it came out more or less the required quantities.)

I don't know what else I should do to return to the selectable stiffness I enjoyed before.

Any ideas, suggestions, indication of a where to find information will be greatly appreciated.

Thanx.

Sounds like you need to service the damper itself. You did a lower service which would have no positive effect. Damper oil service will generally fix this issue. The other thing it could be (rare) is a broken damper
