Hello everyone,

I am here to ask what would make you choose one over the other. I am not questioning which one is best but which would fit best for your personal use. I have to choose one and I would like your opinion and why. Sorry if that's been discussed before but I could not find elsewhere...

Thanks for your help!

M560 has more maximum power than M510 so I would chose M560.

I'd go the m510rs it has 110Nm of torque and up to 790W of power its lighter not as loud as the m560 and you would get more range with the lower power motor ?

I had the same dilemma and chose the m560 because it is more powerful and you can always limit the power, I have it limited to 70% in the 750W version and 100% in the 500W version - you can set it as you want. In the m560 you can use the throttle, but in the m510 you can't (as far as I know). I rode bikes with m510 and would choose m560 again. But if my priority was a super light bike, then I would choose the m510.

May I ask how difficult it is to set the motor? How do you do it?

Everyone else, thanks for the answers, it's exactly that kind of point of view I am looking for. Any other input appreciated!

Are there any reputable sources to buy the Besst tool you connect to your bike and PC? Or is the Bafang Go App enough to parameter the bike without going too deep?

Is the K1 Flash device a better alternative to the Besst tool maybe?

yes i use the k1 flash tool its much easier and you dont need a password like the besst tool to get all the functions.. adjusting the torque assistance setting makes the biggest change to get the motor feeling smooth and powerfull and yes you can use a throttle on the m510 too but i removed it as its not a motor bike ? the weight difference between the two is 400g which is a lot. hope that helps

Ok, so that is something to consider budget wise.

I read there are several versions of the same motor. Is it only a firmware thing or do they actually change something inside. For example the M560 v3.0 (maybe I got that wrong) seems to be more silent.

Ou yeaaah. M560 is super silent now. Just lets see if "nylon" gear would stand it. ;)

Now K1 Flash for 120Eur - SALE of last pieces.

Will be Flash v2 soon - new HW, little different internal logic, better compatibility and reading also Riding Stats (supported by latest firmwares) hours and km driven on each PAS level. So practically same functionality.

I think the best is my combination of that both motors: I have motor M510 with the controller for M560/500W. So I can use silent M510 motor with higher power of M560 (48V/19A) and throttle not limited.

Tell us more such as which torque sensor / controller version we can do this with. Thanks

Guys, now also silent M560 motor in stock.

And correction, m560 has a throttle limitation at 45kmh. Can be tricked by BBR Ultimate.

I have controller info on my display:
SW:MMG5300C4819F801007.5
HW:MMG5300.500C1.0
My Torque sensor is :GR PA410. 48 ST 2.0
I have a plan to build a new battery for my Dengfu E10:13S4P 21700, cells M58T ordered, which will be not removeable, weight about 4 kg as Dengfu origin (840 Wh), but with 1/4 higher capacity.

I had the M510 motor but changed to the m560 so I could use a throttle, I use the CEF 69 in Bike parks and at 69 just wanted that quick 2/3 boost before a jump. I was told that it is not recommended to use the throttle on the m510, what are your findings ? I use the thumb throttle but the issue I have is that it has a very short range only around 6mm so if you want to add just say 25 power then it’s say 1.5 mm , now on rough terrain this is not possible so you get surges in power?

Hello mate.
Also M510 do support throttle, up to 32kmh. With FC3.0 Bafang started to remove throttle support. But there is a 48V firmware for now, which supports.

I dont feel not sensitive response on a throttle. And also with these low powers is ok to press full throttle.
I am using this throttle and is fine.

This week will be out new Flash v3 . Is running over Windows and Chrome, check beta web app at www.k1ebikes.com/flash3
Simple, no passwords, no instalations, firmwares from cloud.

Thanks for that, what is the throttle part number would like to look at it? With all your various tools I saw a thread where you connect to the motor not like the BESST between the DPC 030, I have an Apple Macair , would your tools work on this? I’m not happy with the Bafang Go App all sorts of bugs. I wanted to lower the acceleration on say Sport + and Boost and after this the power cut at 25km/hr. I switched off the bike ans App and restarted but too scared now to try anything on it. The ride tracking doesn’t work as it keeps beeping when you ride, Bafang admitted this and say they are working on the bug? I have the M560 45 Km\ hr version. Do you have a website where Imcan easily see what tools you have and how they work?

Yes, in my signature is webpage address. ;)

Unfortunatelly Flash v3 wont be working with Apple. Apple OS disabled USB comunication from Chrome. And I think also on iPhone.

Maybe one day I will do app for iPhone and also for Android. Not much convinced to maintaint two apps. All depends on sales. And I can tell you, theres not such a big market, just some small money from this hobby - I wont be able to buy an EV any soon. ;) Is now lot of emailing with people who comes for advice or troubleshooting. ;)

So I decided to go with Flash v3 over web app and only Chrome on Windows is supported. You do not need any installation, passwords. And is fast. I like this web app solution. I can do updates very quickly (on server side). Of course you are dependant on internet, but is now all the apps. (Flash v2 is completely independant)
I guarantee I will be keeping and maintaining webserver and page at least till 2032. Still lot of work and debugging. Next, I have to add some quick guide and notes. Just dont have any skills in JS (layout was a pain - so it looks funny, but is prepared also for mobile phone) and its boring job. ;)

Later, will try to make work this web app also under Android. Just affraid a bit about compatibility, GPT told me, some manufacturers can be blocking USB port.

I have the v2 version anything new on the v3 ? an overrun adjustment would be sweet 👍
It is same functionality as v2. You know not possible to come up with something new, only what motor support.

That overrun is strange. Still lot of people reporting me M560 has overrun and to me it looks like overrun is low and fine. Had motors and firmwares with much more overrun.

There is new parameter setting, named "Boost Response time". This should be overrun I guess, but have not tried on a bike. But defined only at RS models. Is strange it is not in Besst, but in GO this setting will show up.

I have in the 560 right now with a throttle, I changed from the 510 because various reports say you shouldn't use it, I would prefer to put back the 510 but you say you have used the throttle on it and any issues and for how long?
