Hi, levo sl dropper cable replacement I'm on a Levo sl gen 2.
Welcome to the forum,
@Simshadey73. Good question, and this one has a few gotchas worth knowing about before you pull anything apart.
The stock dropper on the Gen 2 Levo SL is the X-Fusion Manic, and the cable routing on these frames is genuinely a bit awkward.
The cable has to route in a non-obvious way between the motor mounts, and the Gen 2 routing differs slightly from later generations.
The good news is that the cable is sleeved all the way through the frame, so in theory you pull the old post, disconnect the cable, pull it out, and push the new cable back in from the headtube port. It's described as a 10-minute job if you don't faff about with an internal cable tool.
The critical warning: if you accidentally pull the cable housing too far out, you'll need to drop the motor to re-route it. It's a chore. Specialized do have a video showing a "sneaky snake" method to avoid dropping the motor entirely if that happens.
Worth searching for it before you start. Also, at the entry point into the frame there's a plastic sleeve with a screw that clamps the cable and sleeve, so don't just yank blindly.
One more thing if you're planning to swap to an aftermarket post rather than just replacing the cable: the stock Specialized cable has a fixed end at the lever side, and certain dropper posts (like the OneUp V2) require the fixed end at the dropper side instead. The bolt-on cable barrel can also be too wide to fit some aftermarket actuators.
