LETS SEE YOUR RIDE FOOTAGE

Now I can see it, lovely clear footage, but no stabilisation? Is that to get the field of view better (which is good BTW)
It's been that long since I last used the camera. I didn't look at the settings, but there was some stabilization last time I used it 🤔.
I do think some movement helps portray the speed better though.

Mostly working on dialing in my new camera settings but thought I'd share my crude video from yesterday riding Red Mountain Rush at Hawes. Not 100% happy with settings yet but I'm getting closer to getting it right. Clearly I was smoked from the ride the day prior and stopped several times.
Camera: DJI Osmo Action 6 with FOV Boost lens

Looks really good, I am on the fence about the boost lense, but it does seem to give that little bit more than my pov.

I'm loving your bikes color. I thought your footage was pretty good. I'd tip your camera up just slightly to catch more of the horizon, but what do I know. That Arizona landscape is off the hook beautiful.

After years of being a GoPro fanboi, first cam being the Hero 3, I bought every new one apart from the 7 (I think), up to the Hero 11. Then I went Insta360 X4 (too big), Insta360 Ace Pro 2 (another chesty mount), then the most recent is the DJI Osmo Nano with a home made helmet mount. Only weighs 54g, basically I can clip it there and not even use it, its like a dash cam. Rather than strapping the chest mount and wearing the camera all day, its an easy wear and forget about it.

Just wondering if there is no other way than YT to post video straight from the phone without any external app?

Videos/Photos have to be hosted on a webserver for them to be viewable by anyone else. So YT, Vimeo etc etc These forums are hosted on a web server but if they were to start self hosting media they would need a lot more disk space and therefore costs.

Why do you not want to host it on YT? Is it because you dont want the whole world (in theory) to have access to it? If so upload it to YT as "unlisted" then share the link to here. Only people with the YT link will be able to find/view your video.

Exactly @Cleggy there are 3 options, 1 is for everyone to see, 2 is for people who only have the link (AKA posted here but not searchable) 3 is for private only.

Here's another one from a chest mounted Ace Pro 2.

Two nice videos...... Rivertec looks like some of it could catch you out quite easily (as you say 50:50).
On the "Melrose" one I'm interested where you got the music..... licence free? or something else?

These days, you can just throw a track on your YT vid and the advertisements give the artist some coin. You can't monetise a vid with someone else's music... for us non YT creating peasants, its a win. If you are a creator, you pay or need permission.

YouTube also has its own copyright free music and sfx audio library you can use on your videos, though it is nowhere near as comprehensive as some of the paid ones. But if you are not concerned about using YouTube to earn some coin then just throw on any commercial music and accept the copyright strike from YT

Interesting..... not so long ago I filmed an endurance XC race our son was competing in and for a brief time we were near the start/finish area where there was music playing in the background. When I posted the the video on YT I got a notification that I was breaching the rules and to take it down. I did that and just reposted with the sound removed for that brief section.

Copyright strike.... what do they do?

I'm not on any social media or to be precise I do look at reviews on YT but no account there or any other SoMe.
I don't find them healthy especially for kids and old ppl like međź‘´

I used to get them too, some music companies used to be so anal over their tracks. Sony was one... recently it doesn't seem so bad. As long as you don't make money from YT vids, I believe the advertisements now pay the royalties.

100% bro, you know the techy trails that you can ride fast, slow or whatever... you then get these legendary trails that you need to draw on all your bike skills, not full jump/air knarly but just techy bits, even then you might dab a foot somewhere, not even in the same place each time but you get some stoke when you have done a clean run.

Its literally 50:50 if I get a clean run on that trail.

LOL.... I always set off with the objective of not dabbing (I used to ride motorbike trials) but, as you can see from my handle my son gave me.... "MasterDabber".... I wasn't always successful.

Ok then I have to try this YT way to post a video.
Not very exciting video but part of my daily exercise tour.
Hyperlaps with Vanguard.

I cant see it, maybe as i'm in germany according to work?

Summer vibes with me and my G1

@ozzybmx "Copyright strike.... what do they do?"

They can do any or all of the following:
1. Notify the copyright owner
2.Demonitize your YT channel
3.Pass on the ad revenue from your video to the copyright owner
4.Allow you to overwrite the copyright content with an alternative content from YT or even blank it out

Any time I get a copyright strike I just delete my YT video, go back to my editing software and replace the music that ive used and then re-upload to YT

I have also had it the other way where YT informed me that another YT channel had infringed my copyright. YT allowed me to view the offending video and gave me the option to have their video taken down, but when I reviewed their video it was a false positive detection so I was happy enough for the other channel's video to remain on YT

ps has this forum removed the quoted reply function? I don't see it any more

Back maybe 15yrs ago I had a strike and they removed all audio from the track, I believe it was a Sony client.

Since then, they just drop a link to the track on the vid and probably give the artist some money from the adverts.
