It was always going to turn bad sooner or later , eg Honda can run in F1, do anything they want thanks to the Honda Cub and all the copies of it , rice patty plows etc, Suzuki cars, Kawasaki trains and ships . KTM have nothing for the mass markets . China or India could save them , but unlikely.

The older ones yes. They did bring out their own bikes runing the SRAM power train however which as far as I can see is an original design.

Correct. KTM bicycles put out a statement recently clarifying that they are not connected to the motorcycle KTM and are not in trouble.
