Kiox bolt?

After knocking off my Kiox twice I want to put the bolt in my Kiox mount that permanently secures it.

Does anyone know if you can buy this single bolt somewhere, or even what size bolt it is?

You may want to look at a different location for your kiosk. If you knock it off again while the screw is attached to the mount it may break the plastic tab at the bottom of the kiosk, which helps secure the kiosk or worse and break the back of the unit at screw point. I had the same problem with the kneck mount, so instead I bought a top tube mount. It's not the perfect spot for viewing but it does protect the kiosk more. If your using the top tube mount already then you may want to do the opposite and look at a kneck mount.

That’s a good point, I take it you’ve got a Trek to be able to top tube mount it?

I have the kiox mounted to the stem. I think this location is a little easier to see when I need to glance down. However it got knocked off once while busting through some brush. I didn’t notice until I was 80-100m away. Thankfully my neighbor found it when we back-tracked. Since I never want this to happen to me again …it got me thinking ?. What if I attach a short tether to the Kiox and then to the mount. If it gets knocked off, who cares. It would only be hanging next to the stem. The magnet did its job but I wouldn’t risk losing the Kiox. This has probably been tryed before but I’m curious if there’s any pro’s or con’s?

I have the (useless?) lock feature on my Kiox so don't want to bolt it on for that reason.

I came a cropper a while ago and sent it flying off into the undergrowth, 10 minutes scrabbling around and I eventually found it.
Since then I've attached a Garmin style tether to it. The tether is fixed on the loop by the USB port and I then attach it to a narrow part of its own mount, so if it does happen to come off again at least it wont go far

Yes, that’s what I was looking for. I’m going to add a small plastic clip (very small) so I can disconnect it completely when I want. I scrounged the tether and plastic clip from junked USB sticks. Untying the tether sting is tedious work …but at least it’s very small?.

I disabled the lock feature on my Kiox.(useless). Got sidelined for a few days because of it. I couldn’t make a Bluetooth connection therefore no-worky.

I’ll post a pic of the tether config once I’m done.

Here’s a few pics of the Kiox tether.
