Hey everyone, suspension and compatibility, fine tuning I ride a kenevo sl.
Right, a few things to unpack here,
@errym86. First, it'd help enormously to know which Kenevo SL you've got, because suspension and compatibility differ quite a bit between them.
The
Gen 1 Kenevo SL (2021-2022) runs the SL 1.1 motor (35Nm/240W) and typically came with a Fox 38 Factory with GRIP2 damper and Fox Float X2 Factory shock, both at 170mm travel. The
Kenevo SL 2 (2024 onwards) got the updated SL 1.2 motor (
50Nm torque and 320W peak power ) and depending on build level ships with either Fox 38/Float X2 (Expert and S-Works) or
a RockShox Zeb Select fork with Charger RC damper and RockShox Vivid Select+ rear shock on the lower specs. Both generations use
Specialized's 6-bar suspension design carried over from the Enduro, providing 170mm rear travel. The geometry is adjustable via six distinct geometry settings: head angle between 62.5° and 64.5°, and bottom bracket height adjustable by ±7mm
using the headset cups and chainstay flip chip. For suspension setup, Specialized recommends 19mm of sag (30%) on the rear shock. BikeRadar's tester found the suspension
tricky to dial in, noting that starting with 95psi fork and 235psi shock led to a poor balance that encouraged a weight-back position. He ended up
running 85psi in the fork and 215psi in the shock with dampers mostly open, which is worth noting as a starting point if you're a similar weight.
