Replaced my TCU battery on Levo 2020 Expert at the weekend and first ride out with Garmin 1030 and it's recorded my ride as 17.5 miles when it should have been 12 miles!

If the battery has been flat for a while, will it reset anything to defaults? Haven't had chance to connect Specialized app yet but only thing I can think of is it's reset wheel circumference?

Won't get chance to have a look as I'm away for a few days but thought Id ask the question here first, in case others have experienced similar issues?

What is your wheel size setting ? perhaps that is off ?
I’m back home later today so will check that but that’s the only thing I can think of that would affect the distance.
I‘m sure I read in another thread that the TCU battery was there purely to power on the TCU and all other necessary functions took power from the main battery. I have my doubts about this though!

OK, so just got back and checked the wheel circumference which is reading 90.55 inches or 2300mm. Is this correct for my stock 29" wheels? If so, my problem must be with my Garmin

Wheel size is programmed into firmware so will not have changed and 90,55 is right for a 29er.

Any GPS device can give errors but I would have thought you could see where the extra mileage was recorded on the track in your Garmin. Often the error is caused by GPS changing satellite then reverting to the original satellite.....but you should see a spike on the track if that happened.

Does your Garmin Edge 1030 record distance 1) via GPS signal or 2) is your Levo connected as speed/cadence sensor?
If 1) is true: your Levo and TCU has nothing to do with distance recording (see posting above)
If 2) is true: check the wheel circumference in your Garmin Edge 1030: Sensors - speed/cadence sensor - info - wheel circumference, and, again, Levo‘s TCU and wheel circumference setting has nothing to do with Edge recording.
If you want: upload the activity‘s fit file here and I will have a look into it to find out what happened.

What battery does the tcu use?
