Not sure how the thread ended up in that direction...
From what I've read frasers group made no effort to keep vitus alive and let go of all the staff so even if it was back it wouldnt be the same.
They still have old stock left over so this is probably using the crc channel to shift those
I thought it was funnyIt was just an attempt at humour, don’t worry I’m not here all week and I’m not going to recommend the fish…
In all seriousness, I was having a little dig at the direction our sport is heading if you’re to believe the forum traffic, a lot of folks seem to want more power, a £10k+ darling bike designed in Spain is the new desire (incl for me!) and nobody seems too bothered by spending even more on a so called ‘dentist special’.
I really hope Vitus do make a return, but I think it’s as you say that the only retailers still selling them seem to be shifting presumably new-old stock.
I think there’s room in the market for a decent no frills reliable e-bike, but it wouldn’t get much of a look-in forum or social media wise as everything seems to have moved on both in terms of travel, geo and price…
I’d like to see Nukeproof back as well, decent kit and bikes at sensible prices. I read earlier that the Belgian Cycle Factory (BCF) purchased Nukeproof from Fraser Group earlier this year and plan to relaunch some bikes and components so fingers crossed.![]()
The base DJI seems to ride pretty capably .I think the forum is going to show opinions for peope who have a decent emtb and are thinking about their next option.
If it's what they have already at a better price it isn't going to gather much attention, some recent pauls cycles bikes were briliantly priced but it's not going to create much buzz.
For some, if it has a nice badge and is the latest iteration with solid all round performance and marginal improvements, others want something radically different, big power, lightweight, slim frame etc
Personally I'm leaning towards upgrading to a DJI powered bike from my vitus but I have limited funds and don't really want to spend a load of money to put on a new fork, brakes and tyres as well as concerns about support.
