I Haven't Rode my eMTB all Summer!

I have had the Specialized KSL since it came out in 2021 I believe (my how time flies by). I was hooked and put on a lot of miles. I kept my analog Yeti and occasionally rode it, always immediately impressed with how light it felt (30 lbs), how easy it was to load into my SUV, and how agile, and performance oriented it felt when riding. But I also came back to my eMTB.....until this season. I started the summer with my Yeti and haven't looked back all season. My conditioning got better and the ride feel always impresses me. It shifts like butter and just works well all the time.

I did take my KSL eMTB to the shop recently for some work and in the parking lot, I used ECO mode.....it felt like turbo! It required little effort. I'll venture out again this week on the KSL just to see if I've been missing it, or decide if I'll stay analog for the rest of the season to keep my conditioning up. Note: For conditioning, it's not even close between bikes.

Just thought I'd share my story.

Cheers!

As long as you ate grinning you are winning!

Im about 50/50 on average between mtb and e.

It took some time for my legs to adjust, but now that they have, it's been fun - and challenging.

Whereas i only take my ksl to uplifted bikeparks for the pedal back to the uplift vehicle 😁
Full fat for everything else.

I started flat for a while until I got my non-eBike legs back, then incorporated hill repeats. It's tough, but rewarding.🚴‍♂️

I used to have a Trek Fuel FS and I was knackered after a days riding. I now have an Orbea Wild EMTB and feel equally knackered but now I'm spending more time on the bike, less time walking and riding twice as many miles. :)

Found a balance between my Rail and a gravel bike. The gravel bike is good for access to fire roads and pavement with nice gearing but my analog days on mountain bikes are over. The Rail is just too much fun and keeps me in the game.

I've marvel at the new gravel bikes, but the ability to go so much faster is nice (I like speed), but at the expense of having to go 2-3x the distance just to get a similar workout?

Good share. I started on Rail, bought a Levo SL last year, but have spent most of the year on my newly acquired Transition Spire. Eeb-riding has improved my conditioning, meaning I'm happy to climb on the Spire now and enjoy it's agility as you've mentioned. Good to hear that it's "normal" :)

I went back to my manual and all my knee pain (arthritis) came back!
Last straw for the manual. I went back to the emtb and I sold the manual.
