How long is your Fox38? (for Decoy29-ers)

I'm thinking of upgrading my Fox36E - 150mm to Fox38 (160 or 170mm).

Rear travel is stock 145mm (Current stock 230x60 DPX2, to be replaced with Bomber CR 230x60mm). Not planning to change rear travel.

Who out there is running 160mm vs. 170mm F / stock 145mm R on the lower-travel Decoy29?

I don't jump and drops are less than <10% of my terrain. I don't think I need more than 160mm but see so many posts of 170s and 180s going on Decoys. But I don't see the point of having such a huge gap between F and R travel.

i did fox 38 170mm up front and 230x65 fox x2 rear on my base 29 model. im in southern cali we got a good variety of terrains set mine up to eat up some chunks and drops with the occasional jumps in between. pro model 29 i wouldn’t recommend going up on travel in the rear as other members pointed out the clearance on a carbon rear is a little tight. i wouldve been ok with a 160mm up front if i didnt bump up the rear travel

@yourgrace - Thanks for the reply. I did see your thread and looked that over before making any decisions. I've ended up putting in a pre-order for Fox38 160mm. We'll see how long that takes to materialize! YT wasn't much help in 'suggesting' anything due to liability I'm sure (lack of proper testing), they can't really recommend anything other than stock. But they did imply that 160mm would have minimal effect on geo ( ~ 0.5 degree HA/STA), which if needed can be compensated for going to "HI" on flip-chip.

I realized too that 10mm is probably the 'slop' in terms of where some folks set their sag height.
