Just joined but have been reading the posts for a while before buying. Really useful advice, so thanks. Have bought a Decathlon E ST-900 as a general car replacement for short trips up to around 20 miles locally, to keep fitter now mostly WFH. I’m not up to our local 1 in 6 (17%) hills with full panniers every day on my analogue touring bike! Loving the bike so far, and applying some of the things I’ve learned here to get it set up as I want. Photo and update to follow. (Now added). Switched original knobbly tyres to Schwalbe Super Moto-X, chainring to RaceFace 38t from 34t, added wide pannier rack (wasn’t quite wide enough and needed a bit of hacksaw work), SKS wide mudguards, bar end mirror and lights….now sorted
