Hey everyone. Been a lifelong mountain biker but at 47 just had my second full hip replacement. Initially I planned (like many I guess) to get an e-bike because of the hips. But of course now i realize it’s just going further/faster for the same amount of energy burned. Got my first ride in yesterday on my 2020 Turbo Levo Comp (pictured) and poetically got called a cheater first time out. I don’t want to be a jerk about it, but at the same time i want to respond to this nonsense. I asked the guy how burning 1000 calories and covering 35 miles (instead of 20) is cheating. He didn’t have a good response. How do you all respond to this out on the trails/in the parks?

Nice bike! And welcome.

People and their insecurities...luckily, I haven't encountered any e-bike hate yet here in Huntsville, AL, but when I do (I'm sure it's coming) I just plan to ignore them. I rode analogue mtn bikes for the last 12 years, and just recently got my first e-bike.

I'm done with suffering on the climbs. I guess some people are into that, but not me. I always rode for the downhill reward.
