Hate when that happens. I’ve seen a few home-made or after market versions of the skid plate but the aluminum one seems to hold up the best. It is sacrificial though.I broke mine this week. There's a granite rock with a lip that I usually roll over, but somebody removed the catch rock I had placed at the bottom and I clipped my motor armor on the rock. It's cracked in the same place. Does anyone know the part number?

Thanks. I just ordered one from Trek. My Protect EMTB skid plate arrived this week and I noticed the crack when I went to install it.Hate when that happens. I’ve seen a few home-made or after market versions of the skid plate but the aluminum one seems to hold up the best. It is sacrificial though.

I keep a spare …just in case. I’ve even had a few broken chips on the cooling fins but I file those round/smooth right away. I don’t want to take a chance at cracking the motor casing. That’s only magnesium.
