Hi , im looking for advice to buy my first EMTB, the roads i will be riding are mostly gravel/sand forrest roads and smoot single track, is it worth buying a full suspension over a hardtail.

i have been looking at Trek Powerfly+ 6 and Canyon Grand Canyon ON AL 8,

The jump to a full suspension seems high but maybe its worth it,
do you have any recommendations on these bikes or other Alu EMTB Hardtail or full suspension with large battery 7-800Wh for long rides

As you become more adventurous (which you will) you will want full suspension and will also want to ride further.

Yes its probably better to buy once, cry once, , and get the full suspension

Any brands you will recommend, for a full power 800Wh emtb

@Simon78 This question has been asked numerous times. And mostly answered in the negative. Also, members have posted, saying that they bought a hardtail because of the same reasons you state in your post. They usually went on to say that they regretted the purchase, the ride was hard and unforgiving and they had to sell and replace with a FS.

The consensus is that the extra weight of an emtb does not work too well on a hardtail. in addition, the money they saved by buying an HT was more than doubled, but as a loss, by the time they had an FS that they liked.

But many hardtails must be sold and be retained or the manufacturers would not keep making them. I suppose that the ones retained are used on canal towpaths, country roads and other smooth surfaces.

I have a cube reaction 750wh hard tail and absolutely love it.
Although I'm not doing downhill bike tracks and jumps I do fire roads and bumpy trails and love it.
It might depend on what riding your going to be doing..
