Hallo from Norway. On a quest for my first ever EMTB. Cube Stereo 140 or 160

Currently looking at buying my first ever EMTB after getting my wife a Cube Stereo Hybrid HPC Pro 140 last year. I am considering the same bike or the 160 SLX. Both in 2023 versions. Looking at an all mountain bike with the capability to ride a bit of enduro but still be capable of riding trails. Would rider weight have anything to say on the selection? Currently at 105kg.

I bought Stereo 140 due to wheel size, 140 has 29", while 160 has 27.5" front and back.

I assume you have looked at the SLX bikes in a shop at Sola. You should consider the 2023 140 Action Team they have. It has 146 kg max weight, SLX has max 135 kg. Action Team has very good components, I'm very happy with mine.

Yes have been looking at that shop and their current offers. The 140 action team is a very interesting bike with nice spec but far more expensive than the two other options.

Hi,

I started on a CUBE Stereo Hybrid TM (?) 140 and after a few years with that, I traded it in to the bike shop where I bought it in part payment for a CUBE Stereo Hybrid Action Team 160 2019. The difference is noticeable straight away, depending on what terrain you're riding, but for me doing all mountain type stuff, the extra travel distance is great. The 160 has 170mm up front on my bike. It is confidence inspiring, and I found myself doing a lot scarier trails and descents. Even the trails I was used to on the 140 felt a lot smoother on the Action Team 160, and I could go a lot faster without bottoming out the forks. I'm about the same weight as you. The suspension can be set up nicely to suit our weights, on both versions.
I would recommend the 160 if you're willing to try harder trails :)

Regards,

The Stereo 140 and 160 bikes got new geometry for 2020 and 2022 so a 2019 don't have much in common with current models.
