Hi!

I have a weird noise when pedaling (motor off) on my giant syncdrive pro motor (pw-x). Can you please review my video and tell me if you know what I could do? The exact position of the noise changes if I move the pedal position (backpedaling). Thanks!

I had somewhat of a similar "clicking noise/ticking noise" while pedaling in power modes 3-5 with my PW-X3 motor. Even on auto-mode it sounded bad. I recently fixed it by tightening the lockring (counter-clockwise) you see holding the spider to proper torque 45nM. Noise is now gone and motor is running smooth. It drove me crazy for a very long time, because I checked all other bolts and everything else was torqued to specs. I bought the lockring tool off Amazon.

I am sure glad I decided to check the lockring before sending it off to be inspected and rebuilt. I saved myself hundreds of dollars.

I tagged/marked the lockring with paint to keep an eye on it, to see if it loosens up later on.

Here is the lockring I am referring to in the photo below.

Thanks for your answer. I have removed the spider and the noise is still there. It sounds "inside" of the motor :(

Just for your reference, the problem was inside the motor. A gear was hitting the case softly because of new bearings fitted. They had to sand a little the gear and the problem is gone. Cheers!
