Rail (625Wh) gear set up

trek rail 5 2022....when i have the ebike up on the stand and turn up and down the gears on the high gears 1 to 3 the crank arms go round when i let go but when in the other gears crank arms stay still not going round and the wheel free wheels is this all ok or is there a problem with my set up....
shimano 12 speed cassette
hope 4 hubs
29" rims

6 months ago had this on my 2022 Trek Rail 5, the Deore derailleur was worn out (3,000 miles).

Yes, LBS fitted a Shimano XT mech (because they had one in stock) and all now works perfectly. But not sure your problem is the same. In higher gears (smaller cassette sprockets) the chain would hang like a wet washing line so not index.

Edit: even if out of warranty I suggest take it to your Trek LBS and get them to diagnose the fault.
