I'm looking to buy a good open face helmet, or maybe a full face with detachable chin guard.

The Fox Dropframe Pro looks good. Would anyone recommend this or are there better options out there?

Go with one that fits properly, the Fox isn't great for fitting all head types.
My noggin fits the Seven Project 23.

The good thing with the dropframe is you get 2sizes of padding to aid a good fit although vwsurfbum does have a strange shaped head 😂😂
I’ve the dropframe and speedframe , both fit nice , the dropf gives better protection and is more comfy but prefer the adjustable visor on the speedf so use that more !

Cheers guys, nowhere local to go and try any out so I've ordered a Dropframe. I think I have a normal head, suppose I'll soon find out.

How did it fit mate?

I bought the Large (56-58cm) and it fits perfect after swapping out just the side (ear surround) pads for the thinner ones. My head measured just a tad under 58cm so went with large rather than XL as it only comes with spare thinner pads, you can't add thicker pads if it's too big.

Still liking it? I'm almost about to hit the purchase button for one.
I also measure my melon to 58cm and was aiming at the L as I suspect the XL may be too large.
Rather have it a bit snug than wobbling all the time.

Had one for over a year now and would 100% buy another. Great helmet!

And here it is... :)

So far I'm really linking it, only low point is the strap, seems very flimsy and like it will break/wear out easily.
