Forbidden Druid - Avinox Powered

No actual dates here, Just that Forbidden said they were still on track for original ETA of Aug/September. Was told there may be a slight possibility of late July but not to count on that

I'm the UK and was one of the first to order, Curious where the rest of you are.

I’m in the uk and got told the same each a long wait as I’m bikeless at the mo

Team cycles at Kielder forest are going to stock Forbidden so keen to get a test ride of the E druid .
Not so much because it has DJI but more based on forbiddens Reputation for manufacturing killer descending bikes
Personally I'd only move from Bosch to DJI if I have a local dealer to deal with any issues as there reliability and warranty is not yet proven .

Have not heard anything in Germany regarding s4 being late. Ordered one with a target date of around end of August or September. Will try to get a hold of the lbs and ask again

just reserved a demo on a s3 and a s4 at testRIDE in Lenzerheide at the end of august
What a spectacular mountain and valley. I spent time in Arosa in the snow season and plan on going back to the area for mountain biking in September. Could I ask what shop there is in the area, as I would like to demo a bike before I buy an emtb. I am half way between a Medium and a Large so looking forward to nailing down the size.

I've Ordered a Core 1 for Team Valley Bikes but I'm not filled with confidence as I have asked the same question 4 times once even in the shop and still not got an Answer

Yeah, I don't think the bike shops have much idea about what is happening. It's all driven by Forbidden and the first the bikes shops will hear is when the importer hears....they are in the dark as much as we are. My LBS is hoping that once they are shipped they will be told which gives them a 6-8 week lead in time (given shipping time to Oz). We just have to hold tight and wait.

Is there a fast charger available?

Waiting for my Core 1, ahhh.

Another positive review hits the socials...again if you're in that 6'1" or 6'2" range, there appears to be a real S3 or S4 sizing dilemma. Although the 6'1" did say the S3 was comfortable.

I’m also having a sizing dilemma on the S3/S2. I have an S3 on preorder…

I’m just shy of 5’10. Any one here around d my height with a bike on order? What size are you going for?

All my recent bikes have had a reach around the 470mm mark. With the S3, I could get a very similar cockpit feel to my current bike. I suppose I’m just a little concerned about how big the bike will feel with the longer wheelbase.

I’m 5 11 went for the s3 no question of going smaller I think you’d notice it more on this geo

I am a little over 5’ 10.5” and went S3, but waver from time to time. My current meat bikes are a L Raaw Jibb v2 and a S3 Druid v2. I also had a L Banshee Titan that was very similar to the eDruid geo and that bike was sick. So after typing all that, I feel pretty confident again!

Anyone cross-shopping with the Amflow?

I'm pretty sure I want the Forbidden but I've never ridden a high-pivot bike. And it's pretty expensive.

My son has an amflow so ridden his quite a bit. Great trail bike but has its limits, as always it depends what you ride. The forbidden will be the more capable bike.

Tough isn’t it. The wait has me has me overthinking it. I actually test rode the S3. Didn’t immediately think this is too big. But would be nice to ride S2 back to back before selling my kidney for the bike.

I have waffled a bit between them a few factors made me go amflow:
  • Amflow is much cheaper
  • Edruid was difficult to actually buy. No stores near me and not available online. I don't know why they would make it difficult to buy.
  • Not a spec of my liking
  • Not 100% sure about high pivot
  • 170 fork and 150 rear mullet on amflow is probably enough for me.
If forbidden made it easier to actually buy the bike, maybe i would have gotten one of those. Dunno.

At 177 cm I was looking at the Forbidden and Amflow, but as someone who just sold their nice Fuel Exe due to sizing issues, the geo did not look good for my tastes (prefer around 470mm reach). I know geo is more complex then this, but going from around 454 to 460 reach between my e-mtb and DH bike was insane.
The base Amflow has been very good so far, definitely All mountain class at least. Just my 2 cents :)

I was in the process of buying the E-Core, but the general sizing and CS length just threw me for a loop as well.

Maybe it would have worked out, but it was too large of a gamble for me personally without a real test ride to check compatibility.

Also, the local dealer expected cash up front, with no bike and no discount at all. That's just too much of a gamble for me. 10% off and ordered on a CC so I have a route to get my $ back if he files for BK, is what I'd consider reasonable. But at the least the CC part.

Didn't help that all 3x I spoke to him he expressed his extreme satisfaction and approval for the current US administration and the tariff policies (that might affect a Chinese made motor installed in a Canadian made bike btw). I mean if your hero has a history of filing BK and stiffing people, it's pretty reasonable to expect that you'd emulate your hero.

The long chainstays actually make a lot of sense when the sizing of the bikes goes up. I have been very happy with the druidv2 and the dreadnoughtv1.. both bikes took some time getting used to though, but is has been a blast.
I still have the giant reign e+ since 2022 which has a rather normal suspension plattform and after almost 5 years on the forbidden bikes the giant does feel different and awkward when I havent ridden it in a while..
There a definitely some drawbacks with the high pivot design and their geometry idea. High pivot can sometimes lack agility and nimbleness... you get a plush ride feeling in return that smooths out bumps really well... As for the growing chain stays lengths. They do seem rather long but they sure do not feel nearly as bad. It's actually rather hard to NOT have pressure on the front tire when you have adjusted to it.
Everything taken with a grain of salt though. I am just a fanboy since I first bought that dreadnought in early 2021.

Anyone that brings up any president or politics in a sales situation unprompted is a bit of a wacko. Though tariffs did come up a lot at Sea Otter but everyone kept it about the policy without bringing in any other politics.

Alright another video review. I don't really get this one, he bitches and complains the motor is too powerful and is like a motorbike, but then he's in turbo mode all the time? WTF? Dial it back mate!
Anyway, for what it is worth...
