I have and used a fenix 3 for 5 years but the battery is on its last legs. I know that the 5 is probably no longer going to be supported by Garmin, what does a 6 do that a 5 cannot.
I’m one of the lost generation when computing was not taught in school and I don’t have a 6 year old child handy to decipher any technical speak

6 is a much nicer watch, and i find more use friendly. Maps are much much better and emoticons are shown on screen when showing messages. Heart rate sensor also improved

Proper battery life
Pulse Ox - useful for wellness indicators - when this is lower than 92% I don’t train - I am il.
HR while swimming
quick release straps
i have the leather strap also and use it for a smarter looking watch when I want it.
can store music from spotify and play to Bluetooth headphones without need for phone.
can sync with pay touch services (never used)
Seems to always send Beacons when I start an activity, was hit and miss with Fenix 3

You won’t regret upgrading.
Most GPS functions and HR, steps etc the same.
I love my 6 Pro Sapphire
Had one warranty issue, it bricked for some reason, replaced no problem, I used my Fenix 3 while it in the warranty process and I did miss the 6.
Battery life is fantastic - 10 days with all functions active.
Feels premium and is probably my favourite bit of tech.

There are probably others but I can’t think of them quickly.

in addition to the above, the 6 also has a slightly larger display.

I went from a fenix 3 to a fenix 6 pro (via an instinct), the 6 is a big big improvement over the 3, but more evolutionary when compared to the 5.

I'd get another 6, if I were buying again - although it must nearly be time for the 7?
