Expensive emtb vs Surron

Nowhere to legally ride a surron off-road here where I live in nz. But i can ride a ebike from my house and off-road within 5 mins.

Pretty easy decision.

I have been into 2 wheeled enjoyment most of my life ( it seems) So have motorbikes as well as MTB's and now Emtb's. I used to enjoy a lot of legal trail riding on my insured, taxed and tested Yamaha WR250. Sadly many trails became closed so I tended to focus more on my MTB on bridleways & trails and latterly emtb. To me they are totally different and never regretted my emtb as it has opened up so many more local rides. The point that EMTB's are equally as expensive as E-motorbikes & Motorbikes (In fact my Yamaha cost less) But as others have said, the Suron's and other ilegal drugs delivery e-bikes represent a problem with public perception, especially as they should be insured and registered as a motorbike ( which they rareley are ) I have no regrets buying an ebike, but I have a motorbike when I want that alternative faster experience. Both very different for use in the apropriate legal places. I don't however want an E-Motorbike, that just doen't do it for me

local rides.
Apropos of this, my daughter has just started a degree at York. Sooner or later, I will find myself in town - gimme the downlow on the local trail scene would ya? 🙏
