I have a 2023 Spectral ON CF7. It came with the ep8. Can this be changed out for the ep801?

I believe the ep801 will physically fit but the wiring and battery differ from the ep8
shame as upgrading would make a noticable difference

Yeah the EP801 would have a different battery and BMS - Gen 2, as they put it.
It would be a much bigger upgrade than it would be worth, I feel.

It will fit but …….Battery management system (BMS) changes: The EP801 introduces “revised electronics … update in the battery management systems”. That implies that the previous generation battery’s BMS may not interface properly (communication protocol, CAN‐bus, etc).
Sell the bike to cash out and buy an 801 or Bosch cx. The cx is much better.
