Hi all.

I'm really enjoying ownership of my 2018 model e160 900e. I've now done over 4500km mostly commuting to work in Trail mode.

In the last 800km or so, there has been a double clicking noise from the crank on the right hand side. The click happens twice per crank arm revolution - once at the 4 o'clock position, the next at the 8 o'clock. This doubling clicking happens in all modes and even with light pedal effort.

The chain ring bolts are tight.

Any suggestions on what this could be?

Thanks.

I might have found the cause. The chainring was installed back to front i.e. the inner side was actually facing the outside. The wear on the teeth looked reasonably even, but there were a few suspect spots.

I've made the correction and the double clicking has now gone.

The chain is also around 80% worn, but I have left that for the moment.

It was lighting raining here in Brisbane today during my commutes, so won't be claiming success just yet. But I'm hopeful I've found the problem.

My chain was actually well beyond the 1.0 wear limit on my wear gauge.

I've since fitted a new chain, and now a new cassette. The double clicking has disappeared.

Realistically if I change my chain (KMC 11 speed) at 0.5mm wear each time, how many chains could I get per cassette ( Shimano SLX 11 speed)

Update: mine is the seat clicking/creaking. Hence why it happens twice per revolution.
