As you're aware the protection box's you linked to are simply two ideal diodes in a fancy case. They work wonderfully for DIY ebike builds (bafang motors etc) that use basic battery setups. They will not and do not work for any way if one of the connected battery packs has a 'clever' BMS, i.e. one that performs any type of discharge monitoring and communicates this to the motor unit.
Why?..... The 'clever' battery must demonstrate to the motor unit that it is discharging within set parameters at all times. If the diode box is only allowing discharge from the extender pack you'll get errors, and lots of them.
It would also stop you charging at the pub using the bikes charging port....
